This lecture specially invites master of calligraphy and seal engraving Au Tai-wai and artist Yung Chi-man for an artistic dialogue. Through fascinating examples of seal engraving, the speakers will guide the audience to explore how to appreciate the beauty of seal engraving in a limited space, and elaborate on the complementary aesthetic applications of seals and calligraphy and painting. The two speakers will lead the audience to appreciate the unique charm of seal engraving art, which is both deeply rooted in tradition and close to life, and to understand the appreciation aesthetics and application wisdom contained therein.
Au Tai-wai studied calligraphy and seal engraving under Wu Zifu, and has served as a tutor of calligraphy courses at multiple institutions. His works are collected by many museums and art galleries in the Asian region. Yung Chi-man learned Chinese calligraphy and seal engraving from Au Tai-wai, and her works are collected by the Hong Kong Museum of Art, enterprises and private collectors.
